Congregational Development

Baylor in Latin America will maximize the University's historic role within Christian life by empowering Baptist and other congregations that engage in service along the Texas border and within Central and South Americas. This area of concentration will provide opportunity to scale existing congregational partnerships as well as explore new partnerships in which Baylor can offer its scholarly and research-related assets in ways that maximize the work of laity and vocational ministers who serve at the community level. The initiative will also position the University to engage in macro-level research of faith-based institutions that seek the welfare of congregants and ministry recipients in ways that promote best practices related to holistic care and spiritual formation. Numerous congregations with ties to Baylor engage in service that connects to other content areas within Latin America and in initiatives outlined in Illuminate.
